the ex- president of america came to inti today!!!
apparently he is laureate's chancellor,
and has been to seven, if i'm not mistaken, laureate's universities.
there were a few phrases of his that i like:
focus on doing what you can do,
not on what you cannot do.
it is not the absence of perfection that kills,
it is the absence of possibilities.
what are you going to do?
how much money you have.
How? are you going to work on it.
1 billion people (1/6 of the global population) live on less than USD 2 daily.
2.5 billion people lack basic sanitary accesses.
130 million children have never set foot into a classroom.
1 out of 4 deaths are due to diseases such as malaria, cholera, diarrhoea. these are the diseases of the poor. they die just because they are poor.
don't ask me how i remembered the figures.
i have no idea how. ?0?
but yes, each and everyone of us are responsible to the society.
youth empowerment, interdependence,
strengthening of the global economy,
will only show positive effects if we, stand up for what is right.
bill clinton:
"when we were young, we were asked to study as much as possible, get into universities, take up a job, work an earnest day's work, even if you're leaving the job, you still have to put in what you're paid for, raise a family, and such... but now, there is a new addition to becoming a good global citizen: contributing back to society."
ps: i think that bill clinton's a very practical man, he reminds me of appa,
>.<" especially by the way he says and does things.
